Perimenopause Skin Treatments in Mornington

If your skin has suddenly stopped behaving like your skin, you’re not imagining it. Drier, more sensitive, breaking out again, duller, a little less bounce. It’s one of the most common things I hear from women in their 40s and 50s, and it’s very treatable.

I’m Jem, and I’ve been a skin therapist for 27 years. At Allure Beauty & Skin Clinic on Main Street, Mornington, I tailor treatments and home care to the skin you have now, not the skin you had at 30.

What’s happening to your skin?

As oestrogen starts to fluctuate and fall through perimenopause, your skin makes less collagen and holds less moisture. Cell turnover slows too. That’s why so many women notice:

  • dryness and tightness, even with a good moisturiser
  • new sensitivity, redness or flushing
  • breakouts around the chin and jaw
  • fine lines, crepiness and loss of firmness
  • dull, uneven tone and pigmentation that hangs around

The good news: the right treatments and a simpler, smarter routine make a real difference.

How we treat perimenopausal skin

Every plan starts with a proper look at your skin and a chat about what’s changed, your routine, and any medications. From there, these are the treatments I reach for most:

  • X Cellaris skin needling ($299). Stimulates collagen to soften fine lines, firm and refine texture. Best as a course.
  • HydroLux facial ($165). Deep cleansing and hydration for skin that feels tight and looks tired, finished with LED.
  • LED light therapy ($165 facial, $75 single session). Calms redness and supports repair, with no downtime.
  • Lactic peel + LED ($150). Gentle exfoliation that brightens and hydrates at the same time.
  • Enzyme peel + LED ($90). A softer option for sensitive or reactive skin.
  • Custom facial ($185). Built around what your skin needs on the day.

Home care that actually works

Treatments work best when your home routine backs them up. I use Change Skincare in clinic, including products made for menopausal skin. For most women I keep it simple: protect your barrier, introduce vitamin A slowly, hydrate well, and wear SPF every single day.

Common questions

Is it too late to start?
No. Skin responds to good treatment at any age. We’ll set realistic goals at your consultation.

Can I have treatments if I’m on HRT or other medications?
In most cases, yes. Let us know about any medications at your consultation, including HRT and GLP-1 medications, so we can choose the right treatment for you.

How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your skin and goals. Hydrating facials and LED give a quick lift, while skin needling works best as a course spaced a few weeks apart.
